Laura A. Bosh, 95, of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

She was born on March 20, 1931 to the late Frank and Myrta (Adams) Grimes in Paulding County, Ohio. Laura attended Oakwood High School and graduated from Defiance College with a teaching degree in 1952. She met Jack Eugene Bosh at college and they were married December 21, 1952.

Laura's first teaching position was at Woods Hole, MA, while Jack was stationed at Otis Air Force Base. They moved to Marion, Ohio where she taught fourth grade, and after moving to Worthington, Ohio, she taught second grade at Gahanna Schools. When they relocated to the U.S. Virgin Islands in 1973, she taught second grade and kindergarten. Then she accepted a position as an exchange teacher for two years in Birmingham, UK, where she had the honor of meeting the Queen Mum and Princess Diana. She then returned to the USVI to teach until her retirement in 1992. She loved choral music and was a founding member of the St. Johns Singers and a member of the Caribbean Choral.

Laura is survived by her daughter, Dawn. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, son Kevin, parents, Frank and Myrta Grimes, her brothers, Verlin, Bob, Donald, John, and Archie and sisters, Elsie and Lois.

Friends may gather in her honor from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 in the clubhouse at Glenn Park of Defiance. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Nico Kinner officiating. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
