Shirley Jean Homan, age 84 of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Heritage Park Assisted Living and Garden Homes in Fort Wayne.

She was born in Gibsonburg, Ohio on January 19, 1942 to the late Ervin and Marie (Zielke) Noss, and was a 1960 graduate of Gibsonburg High School. On May 23, 1970 she married Anthony "Tony" Homan who preceded her in death.

Shirley worked for several years in local nursing homes. In her leisure time she enjoyed bowling with the family, tending to her cats and dogs, and attending her grandchildren's activities and events. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Shirley is survived by her loving sons, James Homan of Kenton, Ohio and Mark Homan of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and three grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Homan.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson-Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Kurt Mews officiating. Shirley will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
