Jerry Lynn peacefully passed away at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 5, 1948 in Glasgow, Kentucky to Kenneth and Georgia (Simpson) Lynn.

He graduated from Defiance High School in 1966. He married his wife Sharon in 1972 and retired from General Motors in 2007.

Jerry was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church where he was an usher for many years. He worked with BSA while his sons were Scouts. He was the ultimate sports dad, never missing a game, race, or match that his sons were involved in.

He leaves behind his two sons, Ryan (Shauna) and Derek (Mindi) and has two precious grandchildren, Carli Roughton and Justin. He is also survived by his brother Kenneth (Linda) of Florida, his sisters-in-law, Mary and Connie Lynn, Kay Baldwin and Monica Allen, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Daryl and Larry, and brothers-in-law James Baldwin and John Huff.

Jerry will be laid to rest in Riverview Memory Gardens at a later date, with Pastor Kurt Mews officiating. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to St. John Lutheran Church, or CHP Defiance Area Hospice Center.
