Beverly J. "Bev" George, age 95 of Defiance, peacefully passed to her heavenly home on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Trustwell Living, Kingsbury Place in Defiance, Ohio.

She was born on April 11, 1931 to the late Clarence and Louise (Hall) Weber. She graduated from Defiance High School in 1949, and in November, 1951 she married Ernest F. George, who preceded her in death.

Bev worked several jobs outside the home over the years, including The Crescent News, Maumee Valley Vending Company, and City Beverage Company. She retired to care for her husband. Bev was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and treasured her time spent with her family. She enjoyed traveling, camping, and playing cards with her friends.

Bev is survived by her son Doug, and daughter Denise (Jim) Austermiller, six grandchildren; Bradley (Mindy) Austermiller, Amanda (Ryan) Shreve, Christina Austermiller, Tyler George, Ryan George, and Evyn George, and six great-grandchildren; Ayla, Brynn, Caelyn, and Dax Austermiller, and Kenley and Colby Shreve. Also surviving is her sister-in-law Marilyn Friend, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, William Weber.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at St. John Catholic Church, with Fr. David Cirata officiating. Beverly will be laid to rest in Riverview Memory Gardens.
