Steven Russell Martin, age 73 of Defiance, passed away on September 9, 2026.

He was born in Marion, Ohio on August 1, 1953 to Russell and Marie Martin. Steve attended Grand Prairie Elementary School in Marion, Ohio and graduated from Defiance High School in 1972. He spent most of his working career at General Motors in Defiance. Steve enjoyed traveling and the outdoors.

Steve is survived by his son Braxton Kane Martin, his sisters, Carole Fox, Betty Miller and Pat Stanford, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Stephanie Ann Martin, and his parents.

Private Graveside Services will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Defiance, Ohio, with Rev. Wayne Altstaetter of First Baptist Church officiating. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.

Steve always had a cheerful outlook on life, and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
