Kim E. Meek, age 69 of Defiance, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Monday morning, April 27, 2026 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born in Defiance on August 9, 1956 to the late Nelson and Virginia (Weisenberger) Burill. Kim was a 1974 graduate of Defiance High School and a member of the Defiance High School Marching Band of Class. On August 27, 1977 she married Bill Meek who survives.

Kim was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was an owner of Meek's Pastry Shop in Defiance with her husband Bill for several years. In her leisure time she enjoyed going to the lake, boating, and water skiing. She loved spending time with her family and her pets. Kim was a dedicated wife and mother and will be remembered for her loyalty, kind deeds, and her love of family.

Kim is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Bill Meek of Defiance,her children, Abbey (Shane Brugler) Meek, Maggie Meek, and Billy Meek, her brother, Kirk (Carol) Burill, and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Meek, and brothers, Mike and Walter Proch.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026 from 2-8 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 am on Monday, May 4th at St. John Catholic Church, with Fr. David Cirata officiating. Kim will be laid to rest at Riverview Memory Gardens.
