John  A. Weible, 84, of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, October  2, 2016 at Glenn Park of Defiance.   
 
He was born on February 13, 1932 to Nile and Lenore (Blosser) Weible in  Arthur, Ohio. On November 18, 1955  he married Myrna (Ward) Weible, who resides in Defiance. John served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
 
John was a member of First Baptist Church in Defiance, and was a Sunday School Teacher for over 50 years. He led Sunday afternoon services at Glenn Park, and was a Youth For Christ founding member. John was a farmer in the Defiance and Paulding County areas, and he drove a bus for Ayersville Schools. He was an Ayersville Telephone Board member, and a member of the Gideons. John was very outgoing and full of wit.
 
John will be greatly missed by his wife of  61 years,  Myrna Weible of Defiance, sons, David (Angie) Weible of Colon, Michigan, Jim (Lisa Deaton) Weible of Fairfield, Ohio, and daughter, Julie (David) Hines of Conneaut, Ohio, 9 grandchildren, brother, Robert (Sue) Weible of Oakwood, sisters, Thelma Wygant of Perrysburg, and Jean (Jim) Howard of Bonita Springs, Florida, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lenore and Nile Weible.
 
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, and for one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Defiance, with  Rev. Ron Monteith officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
 
In lieu of flowers or gifts, please make contributions to First Baptist Church.
