Our thoughts and prayers are with Richard Baldwin and his entire family, including my cousin Nancy and her husband, Rick Baldwin, Shirley's son, and their children Rex, Megan and Nick, and her grandchildren. We learn so many interesting and important things about people at times like these, like Shirley being Valedictorian of her high school class, and teaching for so many years, and being so involved with Ayresville track and other sports. Most of all we know that she raised a great family and set such a high bar as a Christian woman and Mother, as evidenced in what we know of Rick. That faith helps so much at this time of loss yet we know that its still very difficult for those she leaves behind. This was a wonderful video of her life, yet one hard to watch in the many emotions it brings forth, seeing her pictured with ones we know and love as she did. Our heartfelt sympathies to Dick, Rick, Nancy, and all in the Baldwin family. You can be proud, and thankful for a life well-lived, and rest in the assurances of life everlasting in our Christian faith.

Rick

Chris Leuthold shared with me the passing of your mother. I wanted you to know we are thinking of you and your entire family. After reading the obituary, it is obvious she was a tremendous lady and a mother whose traits will carry on through the next generations.

Thinking of you and please accept our sympathy.

My sympathies to the family. Mrs. Baldwin was always so friendly and encouraging. I can still hear her voice as she announced at the track meets when I was in high school. A special memory I have of her is when she fainted at a basketball game which added drams to an already exciting game. I'm sorry I wasn't able to make it up for the viewing or funeral. Your family is in my prayers.

Even though I didn't have the honor to know Shirley well, I was able to know of her through her lovely family. I enjoyed years of working at Ayersville School with her husband and it was my privilege to teach many of the grandchildren. Proverbs 31:28 is a scripture that describes what I know of Shirley.

In sixth grade at Malinta Elementary, Mrs. Baldwin once told me I was a voracious reader. Of course I had to go look up that word in the dictionary (and she was right). Lots of fond memories of her!

Trish and I were saddened when we heard of Shirley's passing. We considered Shirley and Dick as good friends. Our time together at Ayersville School and St. Paul's United Methodist Church was filled with many great memories. Shirley was our Sunday School teacher and her passion for the "lest of these," proved to be an example that would lead many to service for the Lord. We know Shirley is in a better place now and her commitment to Jesus served to provide her direction on earth for her place in heaven. Our sympathy to Dick and the family. God loves you and so do we. Ken and Trish Jones.

So sorry for your loss. Shirley (or Mrs Baldwin as I mostly called her) was a wonderful woman and a fantastic teacher. I have fond memories of her as my sixth grade teacher. And in later years I would see her and her husband every year at work. Richard always liked to chat with me "the Henry County Girl" and Shirley and I of course reminisced of memories from Malinta -Grelton school years. Even after 30 some years she knew who I was and names of my classmates. (I can't remember someone the next day sometimes) Such a lovely lady with a great family. I will miss seeing her each year. Love and prayers to all who will be missing her.

I am very sorry to read of your loss. With Mrs. Baldwin accomplishments, her love and joys, she was an amazing woman! I won't pretend to know what you're going through, but what has helped me deal with the loss of those I love, is turning to the Scriptures, something that has been a real source of comfort. One Scripture that gives me hope is, John 11:25, which says, "Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life." I hope that this verse will also comfort you and, I hope you and your family can get through this difficult time. Please accept my condolences for the loss of your beloved -.Sincerely, Meryl, jw.org - healingwordsforu@gmail.com
