Ruth H. Arthur, 96, of Defiance, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Vancrest Healthcare Center in Holgate, Ohio.  
  
She was born on October 26, 1919 to Harland and Estella (Houck) McClure in Defiance. 
  
Ruth was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Defiance. In 1940 she married Don H. Arthur, who preceded her in death in 1990. Ruth worked in the Dietary Department at the Defiance Hospital for 13 years.
  
Ruth is survived by her sons, Ronald (Pat) Arthur of Swanton, and Jeff (Linda) Arthur of Defiance, daughter, Jalaine (Ron) Weber of Defiance, 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. 
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Don H. Arthur, sister, Shirley Huston, brother, Cecil McClure, and great-grandson, Donathon Ashbaugh.
  
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 pm on Monday, August 8, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Pastor Timothy G. Reynolds officiating. Burial will  follow at Riverview Memory Gardens.
