Norma M. Rockhold, 81, of Defiance, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Defiance Area Hospice Inpatient Center.  
  
She was born on April 2, 1935 to John and Nellie (Wylie) Houghton in Quinlan,OK.  On August 19, 1954 she married Robert Rockhold, who preceded her in death on October 24, 2008.
  
Norma was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Defiance, where she was very active in many church activities.  In her earlier years Norma did tutoring.  She especially enjoyed spending her time with her coffee friends at various restaurants in Defiance, and was an avid crafter enjoying knitting and crocheting.
  
Norma is survived by her son, Terry (Julie) Rockhold of Defiance, OH, a daughter, Cheryl (Scott McKenzie) Moore of Delphos, OH, grandchildren, Pete  Brown,  Sara (Danny) Thomas, and Kristine (Scott) Reed, great-grandchildren, Blaine and Charleigh Reed, and a sister, Helen Baird. 
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Rockhold, brother John Houghton and sister, Elizabeth Magee.
  
Visitation will be held Monday, March 27, 2017, from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio, and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.
     
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at 11:00 am in Trinity United Methodist Church, Defiance, with Rev. Judy Williams, officiating.
  
Burial will take place in the Monroe Twp. Cemetery, Continental OH.
  
Memorials are suggested to the CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center or Trinity United Methodist Church.
