Margaret C. (Margie) Beach, 92, of Defiance, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 7, 2016 in Scottsdale, Arizona.  
  
Margie was born on April 4, 1924 in West Unity, Ohio, the daughter of Charles and Verile Charpiot. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John, her sister, Virginia Smith, her daughter, Sherry Mekus, and her grandson, Jeff Shoemaker. In 1945 she married John B. Beach. They had five children; Sherry (Gale) Mekus (both deceased), James (Suzanne) Beach of Phoenix, Arizona, Charles (Paula) Beach of Westminster, Colorado, Daniel (Patricia) Beach of Toledo, Ohio, and Marc (Margaret) Beach of Defiance. She has twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Margie served as an Air Guard (Air Raid Warden) during WWII. She graduated from Davis Business College in Toledo, Ohio. Margie was a secretary at the Ohio Art Company in Bryan, Ohio, and worked for over 20 years in the Defiance City School System as a head cook. She was in the Alpha Chapter of Child Conservation League in Defiance. Margie was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Defiance. She was also in the C&H Wednesday Night Ladies Bowling League.

Margie enjoyed card playing, camping, all sorts of craft work, fishing, cooking, shopping, traveling, sports, (especially the Phoenix Suns) and taking boat rides. She loved her family and friends. 

Margie loved well...and she was well loved.
 
Visitation will be held  from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Rev. Joe Payne officiating. Burial will follow at  Riverview Memory Gardens.
