I just learned of Mrs. Chaney's passing. She was an excellent teacher and the person I admired most as an educator. As a long time university educator/administrator, she helped me much in my formative education and set a great example. I told her this when I saw her a over a decade ago when I saw her at the Defiance Public Library. My sympathies to her family and friends.

I will miss riding to Delta Kappa Gamma meetings with Mrs. Chaney. I enjoyed the banter between she and Nancy Jo Sunday. Her smile,great attitude and wisdom will be greatly missed. God bless your family.

Eileen was a wonderful person and excellent teacher who always had the interest of her students first and foremost. She was always willing to help in anyway to improve and/or maintain our schools. I was very fortunate to have her as a teacher in the junior high school.
Also my condolences to her son, Gary, and her daughters.
