Edna  Lorraine Burdine, 88, of Defiance, passed away on  Saturday, September 10, 2016 with her loving family by her side at the CHP Hospice Inpatient Center, Defiance.  
  
Edna was born on February 17, 1928 to Murry and Golda (McFarland) Phelps in Red Lake Falls, MN.   On December 12, 1974 she married Ronald Burdine, Sr.   
She was a homemaker and a member of the Sherwood Baptist Church.  Edna enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and baking.  Her favorite pass time was creating gifts for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She especially enjoyed the challenge of crossword puzzles and trivia questions usually rising to the occasion with the correct answers.  Edna and Ron enjoyed bowling and traveling to exciting places together. 
  
Edna  is survived by her loving spouse of 41 years, Ronald Burdine, Sr. children Mike (Judy) Larson, Kathy (Adam) Alfero, Sue (Matt) Maravilla, Steve Wold, Vicki (Bill) Curtis, step-children, Cathy (William) Barker, Ron (Mary) Burdine, Jr., Jeff (Linda) Burdine, Beverly (David) Schmidlin, 29 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and  sister Syl LaCombe. 
  
She was preceded in death by parents, sisters Murial Ross & Peggy Olson, and Daughter-in-law Letha Wold.
  
Visitation will be held Monday, September 12, 2016, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday September 13, 2016, 11:00 am with Pastor Ted Ramey, officiating.  Burial will follow at McCauley Cemetery. Defiance.
