Yvonne C. (Boerger) Heitmeyer-Thompson

Yvonne C. Heitmeyer-Thompson, age 79 of Defiance, passed away on  April 17, 2025 at Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance, Ohio.  
  
She was born in Ottoville, Ohio on August 9, 1945 to the late Louis and Elenetta (Kramer) Boerger. On August 9, 1989 she married George Thompson, who preceded her in death on February 29, 2020.
  
Yvonne was a member of VFW #9142 in Ottawa, Ohio. She worked for over 28 years as a Dietary Aide at Brookview Healthcare Center. She enjoyed bowling, playing softball, bingo, and she occasionally volunteered at the VFW. Yvonne will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
  
Yvonne is survived by her loving children, Michelle (Dino) Heitmeyer of Leipsic, Ohio and David (Chris) Heitmeyer of Leonardtown, Maryland, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her brothers, Ron Boerger of Columbus Grove, OH, Bob Boerger and Rick (Michelle) Boerger, all of Columbus, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald Heitmeyer. 
  
A private graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
