Wilma M. Seip

Wilma M. Seip, age 99 of Defiance, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance, Ohio.   
  
She was born on June 28, 1922 to the late Alvin and Helene (Wiemken) Miller in Defiance County, Ohio. In 1946 she married Russell J. Seip who preceded her in death in 1981. 
  
Wilma was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Defiance and maintained an active role with parish ministries in the Women of the Church, Rotary Club and Service Guild. She enjoyed her involvement with church activities and spending time with her church family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canning, and spending time with her family.
  
Wilma is survived by her two sons; Russell (Cindy) Seip of Defiance and Rick (Charity) Seip of Coconut Creek, FL and her daughter, Patricia (William) Smith of Sherwood, OH. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, 4 step-great-grandchildren, and her brother, Howard (Lola) Miller of Ney, OH. 
  
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sue Ann Reed, her son, Randall Seip, brothers, Roger, Richard and Leonard Miller, her sisters, Norma Hogrefe and Lorna Toney, great-grandson Austin, and a twin brother and sister in infancy.
  
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with Pastor Juli Lejman-Guy officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Memory Gardens.
