William V. "Bill" Perdue, age 76 of Defiance, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, April 5, 2025.
He was born In Defiance County, Ohio on April 23, 1948 to the late Ralph and Esta (Dunlap) Perdue. On June 28, 2003 he married Karen Kile, who survives. Bill proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy.
Bill received his Associates Degree and worked at General Motors in Defiance for 38 years until his retirement in 2003. He was a faithful member of The Gathering Place Church. He preached and taught Sunday School for several years at various churches. He was a true man of God and a prayer warrior. He enjoyed woodworking, painting and drawing, and loved his family above all else. Bill will be greatly missed by his family, his church, and many good friends.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Karen Perdue of Defiance, his daughter, Stacy Wilson of Payne, OH, and stepdaughter, Shelly Lindsay of Defiance. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Rachael Wilson, Reanna Wilson, Deberah (Keaton) Davis, Alexandria (Jeff) Schliesser, Whitney (Matt) Nelson and Derek Poling, his great-grandchildren, Braxton, Eli, Arizona, Jace, Hayes and Stella, brothers, David (Karen) Perdue of Bryan and Mike (Elaine) Perdue of Stryker, and his sisters, Carolyn Rex of Paulding, Ginny (Ronnie) Goebel of Bryan, and Nancy (Mike) Goebel of Stryker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Jason Perdue, and brother Jeff Perdue.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 9th at the funeral home, with Pastor Steve Buttermore officiating. Bill will be laid to rest in Ayersville Cemetery at a later date.
