William K. "Bill" Hultz

William K. "Bill" Hultz, age 86 of Defiance, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family.  
  
He was born on August 18, 1938 to the late Kenneth and Florence (Nell) Hultz in Defiance, Ohio. Bill graduated from Defiance High School in 1957 and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Defiance College in 1969. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964. On May 16, 1965 he married Suzanne Heilman who survives. 
  
Bill was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church. He worked as a Chemist at General Motors for 37 years from 1964 until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of the NRA and thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. After retirement Bill added a new hobby in bee keeping and kept busy as a beekeeper for many years. Bill and Suzanne loved traveling to see covered bridges and spending their time at their cottage on Matteson Lake in Bronson, Michigan. 
  
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Suzanne Hultz of Defiance, his daughter, Cathy (Brad) Marzetz of Blacklick, Ohio, his grandchildren, Zachary and Emily, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.  
  
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Hultz.
  
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at St. John Lutheran Church in Defiance. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 pm at the church.
