William Froelich Obituary

William D. Froelich, age 75 of Ayersville, passed suddenly on Thursday, July 14, 2022. 

He was born on December 21, 1946, in Defiance to Walter A. and Elsie "Erdene" (Deffenbaugh) Froelich. He was a graduate of Ayersville HS Class of 1965. Bill proudly served in the US Navy 65' - 69'. He married Brenda (Redmond) Froelich in 2008 who survives. He was an Electrical Lineman for 25 years with Toledo Edison Co. and then a Supervisor/Lineman with Tri County Electric Co-op - Malinta, until his "so-called" retirement in 2012.

His joy in life above all was his time with and pride in his family. His hobbies included fishing, farming with his buddy Dar Lloyd, turkey shoots, cutting trees, fixing anything, his Harley Davidson, keeping a great lawn and a very organized workshop. His newest pure enjoyment was his yellow lab Bullet. Bill was a lifetime member of Defiance AMVETS #1991, Defiance Eagles #372, and Continental American Legion #541.

Bill is survived by his wife Brenda, son Barry and LuAnn (Lloyd) Froelich, Ayersville, Lynn Froelich, (Barry’s mother-Bill’s forever friend), Ayersville, son Sean and wife Erica Froelich of Anaheim, CA, stepson Jeremy Pohl of Valrico, FL; grandchildren, Layne and Maci Froelich of Ayersville, James and Ethan Froelich of Anaheim, CA ; sisters, Charlotte Barnes of Indianapolis and his twin Sally Dement of North Baltimore, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bill will be laid to rest with military honors provided by Defiance VFW Post #3360 on Saturday July 30, 2022 at 11am in the Veterans section of Riverside Cemetery in Defiance, Ohio. Pastor Jim Klausing officiating. A celebration of life outdoor luncheon for family and friends will follow immediately afterward at Bill's favorite place in the world: 27622 Hoffman Road, Defiance. Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance was honored to assist the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Wounded Warriors, or any Veteran's affiliated organizations.
