Wilberta "Berta" (Rohlf) Iler

Wilberta (Rohlf) "Berta" Iler  was called to heaven by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the morning of Wednesday, May 29, 2019.
She was born July 9, 1932 into the farm family of Wilbert and Gladys (Frisinger) Rohlf and worked along side her 10 siblings in Defiance, Ohio.  She enjoyed outside farm work, especially the animals. She was once the Milk Maid Queen at the fair (of course, she started milking cows at age two!).  She worked at Murphy’s Dime store and later at Zellers in Defiance.
 After many square dancing & roller skating dates, she married Ralph D. Iler Jr., September 17, 1954 at St. John’s Lutheran Church Defiance, Ohio. He was the love of her life even after he went to heaven (May, 1998). 
 A family of 5 children was raised in the Christian household in Paulding County, Ohio;  Pamela (Hal) Haviland of Defiance OH, Terry (Michael) Koenig of Paulding OH, Brenda (Gregory)Kent of San Pierre IN, Reberta (Ronald) Carter of Greenfield OH, and Ralph (Lynn) Iler of Kouts  IN.
 Grandchildren include: April Haviland, Amanda (Bryan) Varblow, John Haviland, Joshua (Traci)Koenig, Jason Koenig, Christine (Jeff) Wade, Sarah (Zachary) Dietz, Charles Kent, Samuel (Lisa) Kent, Joseph (Katie) Kent, Maggie (Roy) Rucker, Anne Carter, Mark Iler, Kirk Iler, and Kelly Iler.
 Great-Grandchildren include: Grace, Lauren, Hailey, Timothy & Paul Varblow, Jeremiah & Isaiah Koenig, Tyler & Elizabeth Dietz, and Eliza & Chloe Kent.
She was a loving homemaker, always content taking care of her family  She loved and enjoyed her brother Bill’s visits,  playing rummy, and watching westerns.   
She is survived by Children, Grandchildren, and Great- Grandchildren mentioned above and siblings: Bill Rohlf of Defiance, Maxine Willitzer-Pippin of Edgerton, OH, Mary Ann Font of Grover Hill, OH, Philip Rohlf of Defiance, and Martha Rath of Shelby, OH.  
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, four grandchildren, her parents, Wilbert & Gladys, and siblings, infant brother Wilbert  John Rohlf,  Orianna Armbruster, Mildred Strawser-Schmidt,  Helen Woodring , Bessie Smith, and Karl  "Bud" Rohlf.
Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Celebration of Wilberta’s life will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at St.  John Lutheran Church in Defiance,  officiated by Pastor Donald L. Luhring & Pastor Kurt  Mews. She will rest next to her loving husband at Bowholtz Cemetery in Paulding County.
