Wayne E. Swary, 82, of Ney, passed away Friday, April 26th, 2019 at Defiance Regional Hospital E/R.
He was born in New Bavaria, OH on May 9, 1936, he was the son of the late Arthur and Emma (Moehrman) Swary.
He married Vickie (Bibler) Swary on June 29, 1979. He worked as a millwright at G.M./Powertrain, retiring June 1, 1994..
Wayne proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He was a lifetime member of the Defiance VFW, lifetime member of AMVETS Post # 1991, National Rifle Association and the U.S.S. MaGoffin Association. He loved fishing, hunting and helping others.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Vickie,
daughter: Melanie Pace of Scottsboro, Alabama,
son: Brad Swary of California and 2 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Norman, Darwood, Gene, and Roger Swary, 5 sisters: Madonna Swary, Theresa Swary, Jane Miller, Berneta Chrisman and Dortha Swary.
Services will be at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 29th.
Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens where VFW Post # 3360 will conduct honorary military rites.
Visitation is Monday 9-11 a.m. at Lawson-Roessner.
