Victoria Ann "Vickie" (Steel) Kiessling

Victoria A "Vickie" Kiessling, age 82 of Defiance, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at her home in Defiance.   
  
She was born on December 22, 1940 to the late Leo "Bud" and Marjorie (Groh) Steel in Defiance. On July 6, 1974 she married Rick Kiessling, who survives. Vickie was a member of Defiance Moose Lodge #2094 and Eagles #372. She enjoyed spending time at Lake Erie, gardening, and she treasured her time spent with her family. Vickie was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and many good friends.
  
Vickie is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Rick Kiessling of Defiance, and her children; Karen (Terry) May of North Carolina, Randy Cereghin, James (Vivian) Cereghin, Jeff Cereghin, and Richie Kiessling, all of Defiance, Doug (Ali) Cereghin of Phoenix, AZ, and Beth (Chad) Schroeder of Salmon, Idaho. She also leaves her sisters, Mary E. Combs of Defiance, Kathy (Bob) Masterson of Avon Lake, Ohio, her brother, David Steel of Cecil, OH, daughter-in-law Diane Cereghin of Defiance, sister-in-law, Marilyn Steel of Defiance, 17 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. 
  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Chuck Cereghin, brother, Ronald J. Steel, and sisters Ruth Underwood and Peggy Steel.
  
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home, with Crystal Church-Stavitzke officiating.
