Timothy Lynn Schwiebert, age 76 of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on November 27, 1949 in Fort Wayne, Indiana and was a 1969 graduate of Ridgeville High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter pilot from 1969-1973 during the Vietnam War. Tim earned a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star and a Silver Star. On August 7, 1976 he married Marnie Buckmaster who survives.
Tim worked for 54 years as an engineer for Sanoh America, previously Fulton Tubing. He was a member of the Amateur Radio Club and Defiance Fish & Game. In his leisure time he built engines for race cars, and enjoyed guns, fishing, cars, and H.A.M. Radio, KA8CIH. Tim was a very simple man and loved spending time with his family.
Tim is survived by his loving wife, Marnie Schwiebert of Defiance, daughter, Paula Fisher of Defiance, son, Randall (Connie) Sprow of Delta, OH, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, his father, brother and sister.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Roberta Brecount, and mother-in-law, Grace Buckmaster.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 27th at the funeral home, with Pastor Matthew Diehl officiating. There will be one additional hour of visitation prior to the service from 10-11. Tim will be laid to rest in Brunersburg Cemetery.
