Terrance A. Hohenberger

Terrance A. Hohenberger, age 79, of Defiance, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Advanced Specialty Hospital in Toledo surrounded by his family.  
  
Terry was born on April 13, 1946 in Defiance to Marvin O. and Betty G. (Viebach) Hohenberger. He was a 1964 graduate of Defiance High School. After high school he married and had three children, Lori, Cinnamon and Timothy. In 1975 he met his second wife and love of his life Rosalie (Casey) Blaine and her daughter Tonya. Terry and Rose were married on September 30, 1988 and he raised Tonya as his own. They shared almost 50 years together. Quite a love story they were. She will cherish her 49 plus years of memories they made together and will always love him. He will be missed by many family members and friends.

Terry worked as a Millwright for General Motors for 46 years until his retirement in 2006. He loved going to Nascar races and cheering on Dale Earnheardt, his favorite driver. He also enjoyed building and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, "A need for speed" was his motto. Terry truly loved life and enjoyed all of it. 

Terry is survived by his loving wife Rose, two daughters, Lori (Jeff) Sauber of Jacksonville, FL and Cinnamon (Mark) Pirolli of Petersburg, MI, one son, Timothy Hohenberger of Defiance, one step daughter, Tonya (Edward) Busche of Leo, IN, thirteen grandchildren, Chase, Sami, Will, Taylor, Blake, Maddie, Abby, Drew, Devon, Kieana, Joel, Timothy, Jr. and Tawny, nine great-grandchildren, Nova, Bristol, Ayvie, Harlyn, Milo, Levi, Rowan, Griffin and Harley and  one brother, Thomas L. Hohenberger of Columbus, OH.
  
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Betty Hohenberger, grandparents, Bessie Faye and Harry Titler and sister-in-law, Charlotte Hohenberger.  
  
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 17th at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Terry will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.
