Susan V. (Atencio) Eisenberger

Susan V. Eisenberger, age 88 of Defiance, passed away on Thursday morning, May 22, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones.   
  
She was born on March 6, 1937 to the late Miques and Ramona (Pacheco) Atencio in Red Messa, Colorado. On May 22, 1964 she married Walter Eisenberger who preceded her in death on May 9, 1999.

Susan was a member of St. John Catholic Church, and VFW #3360 Auxiliary. In her leisure time she enjoyed flower gardening and reading. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who treasured her time spent with her family. Her son Kenneth was her primary caregiver. Susan will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
  
Susan is survived by her loving children, Eric Eisenberger of Ft. Wayne, IN, Melinda (Clinton) Eisenberger-Smith of McArthur, OH, and Kenneth Eisenberger of Defiance. She also leaves behind her brother, Alfonso (Rose) Atencio and her sister, Lavern (Otis) Pulliam, all of Arizona. 
  
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by seven siblings; Mary Black, Robert Atencio, Fred Atencio, Francis Maag, Stella Brinkman, Ruth Lynch and Leonard Atencio.
  
All services for Susan will be private. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
