Susan L. (Woodring) Borkosky

Susan L. Borkosky, age 78 of Defiance, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.   
  
She was born in Paulding, Ohio on August 14, 1947 to the late Paul and Helen (Rohlf) Woodring. Susan was a 1965 graduate of Defiance High School. On June 21, 1969 she married Frank Borkosky who resides in Defiance. 
  
Susan was a faithful and active member of St. John Lutheran Church. She earned her Associate's Degree from International Business College in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and worked as a bookkeeper for Diehl Corporation in Defiance and Mercer Landmark in Sherwood until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with her family and attending her grandkid's events. 
  
Susan is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Frank Borkosky of Defiance, and her children, Tim (Amy) Borkosky of Paulding, OH, Holly French of Wauseon, OH, and Russ Borkosky of Paulding, OH. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Cody French, Jessie French and Gunner Borkosky, her brother, Raymond (Marion) Woodring of Ney, OH, and sister, Kay Vega of Mansfield, OH. 
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Helen Woodring.
  
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 2-8 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, December 12th at St. John Lutheran Church, with Pastor Kurt Mews officiating. There will be one additional hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Susan will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
  
Susan's family requests no flowers or funeral memorabilia. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. John Lutheran Church or CHP Defiance Area Hospice Center.
