As a homemaker she made a welcoming, loving, safe and secure home for her large family. A wonderful cook and baker, mealtimes were important to her and she made sure the family ate all meals together at the table. She raised a large vegetable garden, and kept a small orchard. Additionally, she assisted her husband daily on their dairy farm milking cows, feeding calves, shuttling farm equipment, record keeping, assisting vet calls and all. Later she drove tractors and the combine on their grain farm. She helped Bob to teach all their children to do the same.  She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren whether babysitting, playing cards and board games, watching them swim in the farm pond, or watching them play sports and participate in extra-curricular activities She raised transplants in her greenhouse and shared them with family and friends. She was a 1959 graduate of Fairview High School, Sherwood.
Stella was a devout, lifelong member of St. Isidore Catholic Parish where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and served as a Eucharistic Adoration coordinator. Previously she donated countless volunteer hours as a religious education teacher, funeral luncheon chairlady, sacristan, Eucharistic cup bearer, and hospice volunteer. She was a virtuous woman of faith and prayer, especially the rosary, and many relied on her good counsel.
