Obituary

Sharon M Greear, 75, of Defiance, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Bryan Healthcare Center.

She was born on March 7, 1947 to John and Blanche (Wetzel) Antoine in Defiance. On November 2, 1963 she married Colin K. Greear, who preceded her in death on May 20, 1999. Sharon previously worked as a store clerk for Meijer in Defiance, the major part of her life she was a homemaker. She was a member of St John Lutheran Church.

Sharon was devoted to her family. The pride she had in them and the love she felt towards them was always on display.  She never missed a ball game, dance recital, birthday, or any family gathering.  She truly enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family. In addition to family, Sharon was blessed with a close group of friends.  When you found them together, you undoubtedly heard pure joy and laughter.  She spent time traveling and experiencing life to its fullest.  Going for car rides, and enjoying a weekly frappe with her son were some of her favorite things later in life. Sharon spent many years missing her husband, Colin, her family is thankful they have been reunited for eternity. We know the tears cried upon her heavenly arrival were only happy tears.

Sharon is survived by her son, Tim (Jenny) Greear; daughter, Tammy (Alex) Ciatola  and extended family George (Anna) Hernandez.  Sharon leaves behind six grandchildren: Ashley (Andy) Hunter, Brittany (Ryan) Helberg, Megan (Dallas) Robinette, Jacob (Adrianne Ivey) Rohlf,  Ethan (Courtney Cooper) Rohlf, and Adina Hernandez. She was a great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Colin K. Greear; sister, Vivian Greiner; brothers, Robert Antoine, Sr. and William E. Antoine; and  grandson, Jared W. Rohlf.
