Sara Anne "Sally" Sitzenstock

Sara Anne "Sally" Sitzenstock, age 87 of Defiance, formerly of Maumee, Ohio, peacefully passed away on Thursday morning, September 14, 2023 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.   
  
She was born on May 31, 1936 to Edward and Dorothy (Stephens) Stevens in Mansfield, Ohio. On June 8, 1963 she married Robert Sitzenstock, who preceded her in death in July 7, 2016. Sally was a member of The Salvation Army and First Presbyterian Church in Maumee, Ohio. She proudly earned her Master's Degree from Colorado College. Sally was an excellent gourmet cook. She enjoyed gardening, playing Bridge and feeding and watching birds. Sally loved spending time with her family.
  
Sally is survived by her daughters, Stephanie (Mike) Sindel, Durann "GiGi" Sitzenstock, both of Defiance, and Synda (Gary) Heikkinnen of Monticello, KY, two grandchildren, Paulianne "Peanut" Sitzenstock and Christopher Sindel, and her brother, Tim (Carol) Stevens of Monticello, CO. 
  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Sitzenstock, daughter, Heidi Sitzenstock, and two sons, Robert and George "Dude" Sitzenstock.
  
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at 1400 Powell View Drive.in Defiance. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements. 
  
Memorials are suggested to CHP Defiance Hospice Center, or Boy Scout Troop #75 at St. John Lutheran Church, Defiance.
