Rosemary Mehring

Rosemary Mehring, age 95 of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Fountain Park Assisted Living in Bryan, Ohio.   
  
She was born on June 6, 1927 in Napoleon Township, Henry County to the late Thomas E. and Lula M. (Fedderke) Stykemain. On October 17, 1948 she married Paul E. Mehring, who preceded her in death on July 23, 2012.

Rosemary was Salutatorian of her 1945 graduating class at Richland Adams (Jewell) High School. Directly after graduation she went to work as the secretary to John Diehl at the Christ Diehl Brewing Company / Defiance Milk Products. Later years had her working as a bookkeeper at Bolley Motor Sales, Lectrolite, and The Grocery Company. She was also a Defiance County Deputy Clerk of Courts for 17 years and finished her business career at Clemens, Kohrn, Liming & Warncke, Ltd.
  
She was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was a member of The Service Guild, Women of the Church, Ruth Circle, a Sunday School teacher and member of church council. Rosemary was also a member and past officer of Current Event Club and a member of Defiance College Women's Commission.
  
Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Nancy J. Plassman of Defiance, three grandchildren; Andrew Plassman of South Jordan, UT, Matthew Plassman of Los Angeles, CA, and Emily Plassman of Lancaster, OH, and her brother, Thomas (Judy) Stykemain of Defiance, Ohio. 
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son-in-law, Robert Plassman. 
  
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 9:30 to 11:00 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the church, with Rev. David Brobston officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Memory Gardens.
