Ronda B. (Carter) Yates

Ronda B. Yates, age 68 of Paulding, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Parkview North Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.   

She was born in Alexandria, Indiana on July 8, 1957, to Myles and Stella (Hamilton) Carter. On April 12, 1974, she married Richard Yates, who survives. 

Ronda was a member of Defiance Eagles #372. She worked for several years at Campbell's Soup Company in Napoleon until her retirement in 2016. She enjoyed reading, sewing and crocheting blankets, crafting, and shopping, especially for purses. Ronda loved riding on the golf cart with Richard, and spending quality time with her family.

Ronda is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Richard Yates of Paulding, and her children, Serena (Burton) Sharp of Defiance, Rachel (Dave) Talbott of Eaton, IN, and Joe (Nicole) Yates of Oakwood. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Alex, Andy, Kameron, Perry, Larkin, Kayti and Bethany, great-grandson, Caesar, and her siblings, Jesse (Deb) Carter, Mark (Brenda) Carter and Carla Lambert. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Gage Kaiser, sister-in-law, Deb Mayes, and brothers-in-law, Robbie Yates and Troy Lambert.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 10th, at the funeral home with Rev. Janet Strickland officiating. There will be one hour of visitation before the service from 10:00 am-11:00 am. Ronda will be laid to rest in Ayersville Cemetery.
