Ronald James Clemens Sr.

Ronald J. Clemens Sr., age 85 of Oakwood, Ohio, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 25, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones.  
  
He was born on December 20, 1940 to the late Basil and Cecilia (Staudigel) Clemens in Defiance, Ohio. On June 25, 1960 he married Patricia "Pat" Klier in Delphos, Ohio. Ron retired from General Motors in Defiance on May 5, 1991 after 30 years of service. In his leisure time he enjoyed NASCAR, camping and spending time with his family. 
  
Ron is survived by his loving wife Pat Clemens of Oakwood, three sons, Ronald (Cathy) Clemens, Jr. of Hicksville, Bruce (Jackie) Clemens of Cecil, and Jim (Mandi) Clemens of Antwerp, his daughter, Shellie (Bruce) Weidenhamer of Cecil, and his sister Ann Nowicki of Michigan. He also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.  
  
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Andy Clemens, sister Barb Dennis, and grandson Eddie Clemens.
  
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 30th at the funeral home with Pastor R.J. Clemens officiating. Ronald will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
