Ronald W. Retcher

Ronald W.  Retcher, age 76, of Defiance, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2022, at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center surrounded by family. 
  
He was born on August 26, 1945, to Charles and Mildred (Mansfield) Retcher in Defiance, OH. He was a graduate of Ayersville High School and worked in the warehouse at Campbell Soup Company until his retirement in 2004. On March 21, 1970, he married Cheryl Jacques, who survives. He was a former member of St. John United Church of Christ. Ronald was an avid sports fan. Some of his favorite teams were the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, and Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports and attended all of their games. Ronald was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by many family members and friends.
  
In addition to his wife, Cheryl, Ronald is survived by his daughters, Sherry (Bradley) Baldwin and Theresa (Joshua) Snyder, both of Defiance; grandchildren, Laney, Tenley, and Avery Baldwin, and Garrett, Levi, and Kaiya Snyder; and sisters, Shirley (Ed) Hohenbrink and Betty (Robert) Florence, both of Defiance.
  
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Charles A. Retcher, Jr., and sister, Mary Ann Retcher.
  
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Deb Miller officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Memory Gardens.
