Roland "Rollie" C. Cameron, age 72 of Defiance, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born on July 29, 1950 to the late Larid and Vera (Boyd) Cameron in Defiance, Ohio. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Bronze Star for his service. Rollie worked for several years at Defiance Precision Products until his retirement in 2016. He was a former member of Defiance Pigeon Club and AmVets #1991.
Roland is survived by his son, Bob (Melanie) Cameron of Defiance, his daughter, Tracy (Michael) Trausch of Paulding, OH, twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother, Larry (Gail) Cameron of Defiance, and his sisters, Marla Turner of Kalida, OH, Sharon Roesti of St. Louis, MO, and Nadine Reed of Defiance.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Gregory Cameron, granddaughter, Mattie Jo Cameron, brother, Jerry Cameron, and sister, Beverly Minck.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 2:00-8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at the funeral home, with Pastor Jeffery Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Memory Gardens, with graveside military rites conducted by VFW #3360.
