Robert Leever Obituary

Robert Adam "Bo" Leever, 41 passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022

Bo had the biggest heart, an outstanding work ethic, and his smile was unforgettable. Bo enjoyed life’s adventures full throttle, and if you spent any time with him at all, you likely experienced at least one of these moments! If you were lucky enough to get a hug from him, they were the best-he would smile huge, run over and squeeze you with bear-like strength, and lift you off your feet! Bo was an untraditional type that always thought outside of the box and came up with innovative ideas-a mad genius! He never needed an instruction manual but instead knew instinctively how to tackle a challenge. That kind of thinking came so easily for him. He was fussy about one thing only, his appearance! And, as such, was a loyal customer to LL Bean, Rock Revival jeans and Berne bib coveralls, not to mention the unforgettable Mont Blanc Legend cologne. He was a great grill master and knew how to host the best fish fry. He was generous with his time-always willing to help others move a heavy piece of furniture or fix something with superhero strength. He loved to show up BIG with the most elaborate gifts, like an electric guitar for a one-year-old birthday or a real surfboard for a three-year-old! We loved his GO BIG or GO HOME zest for life. Perhaps most importantly though, Bo was a loyal protector to those he loved, and we always knew he had our back!

Bo loved his career as an Ironworker! He had so much pride in the windmills and the buildings he built over the years. He loved flying the “big iron and connecting” and always wanted to be at the highest possible point. Wanting to leave an indelible mark, he would doodle messages on the inside of the iron knowing it would be there forever.

Bo’s life was not always easy, but his strength and perseverance were certainly admired. He was able to find peace on his boat on Lake Erie where he loved to fish, tinker around, and enjoy the social life of the Marina. Whether or not those around him knew him personally, there is no doubt they knew OF him as he made his presence known both physically and audibly! He always brought an elevated energy wherever he went!

We will miss him and his beautiful smile, his known presence as he entered a room, his amazing laugh, and his generous perch deliveries when it was a good day on the water.

Bo is survived by his two sons, Owen and Adam Leever of Defiance, OH. His mother, Anita Kime of Defiance, OH. His sisters Jenni (David) Boczar of St. Simons Island, GA and Jessica (Michael) Mann of Cincinnati, OH. He is proceeded in death by his father William Joseph Leever and sister Abby Jo Leever.

We can’t think of any better way to honor Bo than to live hard and love hard-just as he did.
