Robert M. Hatfield

Robert M. "Bob" Hatfield, age 67 of Cecil, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital.  
  
He was born on June 27, 1955 to the late Jimmy and Sally (Streeter) Hatfield in Saline, Michigan. On January 31, 1994 he married Glenda Hicks who survives. 
  
Bob worked in the Molding Department at General Motors for several years until his retirement in 2005. He was a huge fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Indians. He enjoyed working on his yard, watching wildlife, doing word searches, and watching movies. He loved dancing with his wife. Bob was a real jokester and prankster and a wonderful storyteller. He treasured his time spent with his family. 
  
Bob will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 29 years, Glenda Hatfield of Cecil, OH, his children, Caleb Hatfield of Belleville, MI, Gwendolyn Hatfield  and Juanita New, both of Ft. Wayne, IN, 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and his siblings, Mary Ann (Bruce) Wertenberger of Dundee, MI, Steven (Jamie) Hatfield of Pittsford, MI, and Donald (Denise) Hatfield of Saline, MI. 
  
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Glen Helton, great-grandson, Kingston Kirtz, brother, David Hatfield, and sister, Cathryn Scriven.
  
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating.
