Rita Ann (Frankenberry) Green

Rita Ann Green, age 84 of Defiance, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, March 24, 2026 at Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance, Ohio. 

She was born on November 5, 1941 to the late Semans and Eleanor (McDonough) Frankenberry in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Rita moved to Napoleon, Ohio in 1961 and worked at General Motors for several years until her retirement. Rita was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, and UAW #211. She absolutely loved seeing her grandkids and great-grandkids when they visited, or when she traveled to see them all. Rita enjoyed reading books and traveling, especially with her 4-legged babies. 
  
Rita will be sadly missed by her loving children, Joe (Sheila) Green of Independence, KY, Justin Green of Defiance, Paul (Renee) Green of St. Simons Island, GA, and Jackie (Brent) Gregory of St. Augustine, FL. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and her sisters, Louise LeClaire of Austin, TX, and Peggy (Joe) Sullivan of Largo, Florida.
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Jeff Green, and brother Joey Frankenberry.
     
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, with a funeral service immediately following at 1:00 pm. Friends and family are invited to the Defiance VFW following the service for a celebration of life. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
