Richard Mojica, Sr.

Richard Mojica, Sr., age 72, of Defiance, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.
  
He was born on June 10, 1950 in Leon Guanajuato, Mexico to Jenaro Perez and Juana Mojica. On October 6, 1968 he married Maria F. Rios and she survives. Richard worked as a Chief Machinist for Johns Manville. He was very dedicated and worked there for 53 years. Richard was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. He enjoyed dancing, working on cars and traveling with family and friends. He also liked spending time with his great-grandchildren and always took very good care of his family. He will be missed by many family members, friends and co-workers. 

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Maria, children, Mary (David) Rubio of Mission, Texas, Richard (Angelina) Mojica, Jr. of Defiance, Ohio, Yolanda (Greg) Figy also of Defiance, Robert (Adrienne) Mojica of Bryan, Ohio, Anthony Mojica of Edgerton, Ohio, 23 grandchildren and great-grandchildren and brothers, Pablo Mojica of San Antonio, Texas, Antonio Mojica of Defiance and Felix Mojica also of San Antonio, Texas.
  
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Phenix Mojica.
  
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a Rosary Service beginning at 6:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton St.) in Defiance. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. John's Catholic Church, with Fr. John Stites officiating.
