Regina L. Bays

Regina L. Bays, age 62 of Defiance, Ohio, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025 in Defiance.  
  
She was born in St. Albans, West Virginia on June 30, 1963 to Estil and Linda (Lytle) Bays. Regina was a 1983 graduate of Paulding High School. She married Richard Newsome who preceded her in death on September 7, 2017. Regina was a member of Defiance Moose Lodge #2094. She worked as a Nurses Aide at area nursing homes for several years. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandkids, sharing stories, cooking, playing kickball, and taking them for visits to the Friends of Felines. Regina will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
  
Regina is survived by her daughters, Carrie (Nate) Armstrong and Erica Brown, all of Defiance, six grandchildren; Shelby, Lance, Cole, Trevor, Dalton, and Avery, her brother Tommie Lytle of Payne, OH, and her best friend, Amanda Mullins. 
  
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by twin sons in infancy Jimmy Allen and Jonathon Nicholas, sister Debbie Bays, brothers Paul Bays and Eugene Bays, grandsons Jameson Vazquez and Parker Santos.
  
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
  
Memorials are suggested to Friends of Felines or CHP Defiance Area Hospice.
