Phyllis Ann Plassman Homier went to her eternal home on September 7, 2025. She was greeted there by her husband Marvin J. Homier, parents Edwin Plassman and Glenadene Plassman-Koch, her dear sister Janice, her beloved son-in-law Pablo, and countless others.
Phyllis was a loving mother to Cynthia and Mike Heilshorn, Christine and Bill Webb, Ric and Barb Homier, Mark and Kathy Homier, Lisa Homier, Tony and Carrie Homier, and Beth and Pablo Castillo.
Her sweet legacy will continue to grow and expand through her 24 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. She was looking forward to meeting her 50th great-grandchild arriving in December.
In addition to visits from her children and grandchildren, she treasured her charm bracelet with 49 hearts each engraved with a great-grandchild’s name.
Phyllis had a passion for books, artwork, and nurturing plants and flowers around her home. She thoroughly enjoyed daily interaction with her family and dearest friends on her computer. As a dedicated Ohio State sports fan, she delighted in watching games and the OSU band.
Visitation will be Monday, September 15, 2025 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson-Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 16th at 11:00 AM at St. John Catholic Church in Defiance. Phyllis will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
