Philip D. Bauer, age 83 of Bryan, Ohio, a beloved son, brother and friend, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024.
Born to William and Mary (Michael) Bauer in Ney, Ohio, Philip lived a life marked by dedication, hard work and unwavering faith. He peacefully joined his Lord and Savior at the age of 83, after a lengthy illness at the Bryan Healthcare Center in Bryan, Ohio.
Philip's journey through his life was one of resilience and commitment. He spent many years working at the Ney Radish factory and later at Quadco Rehabilitation Center in Stryker and Werlor Waste Management in Defiance. His work ethic and dedication were evident in all he did, and he touched many lives through his service. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching old western movies.
Philip is survived by his loving siblings: Yvonne Smith of Utica, Michigan, and Bill Bauer and Burnell Bauer of Bryan, Ohio. Though he has left us, he is now reunited with his parents and his siblings who preceded him in death: sisters Marian Frank, Arlene Lloyd and Naomi Bauer, and brothers George, Vernon, Marvin and Lauren.
As we reflect on Philip's life, we remember his kindness, his strength, and his unwavering faith. He faced his illness with courage and grace, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home, with Rev. Jim Brown officiating.
