Paul R. McCusty, 75, of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born on June 26, 1949 to the late Paul and Elizabeth (Grundstrom) McCusty in Boston, MA. Paul was a 1967 graduate of Arch Bishop Randall High School. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Bentley College during his military service.
On November 26, 1999 he married Arleen North, who survives. He worked as a CFO for Ohio Art in Bryan, Ohio for 16 years until his retirement in 1999. In his leisure time he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and traveling during the winter months. He treasured his time spent with his family, especially with his grandchildren.
Paul is survived by his loving wife Arleen, his sons, Daniel Strong and Michael (Tracey) Strong, all of Napoleon, OH, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Fred McCusty, and sister Susan Lucier.
There will be a private graveside service. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
