Paul Gilbert Stork

Paul Gilbert Stork, age 75, of Paulding, passed away on  August 26, 2023 at Mercy Defiance Hospital.
  
He was born on July 23, 1948 to Vern "Shirley" and Irene (Englemann) Stork in Defiance. He was a 1966 graduate of Oakwood High School. On April 22, 1972  he married Gail Gerken at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Ayersville. Paul was an Army veteran, specialist 5th Class, who served in South Korea during the Vietnam conflict from March 1968 to January 1970. He was in the Army Reserves until his honorable discharge in 1974. Paul worked at Dinner Bell, Johns Manville, Baughman Tile and General Motors from which he retired after 27 years as a Millwright in 2012. Paul was a volunteer Fireman for Auglaize Township. He was a lifetime member of the Defiance VFW Post #3360, AmVets Post #1991 and Auglaize Village, he was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 372, Defiance Moose Lodge #2094, the Elks Lodge #147, Bryan Fraternal Order of Eagles #2233, Napoleon American Legion Post #300, and Vietnam Veterans of America.

Paul was an avid Ohio State Buckeye Fan along with a fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed watching his sons and grandchildren play sports, spending time with his grandchildren, camping, going on golf cart rides in the woods and hunting. He liked Pontiac cars, AC tractors and trains, teaching the 50's and 60's music to the grandchildren and most of all, he enjoyed dancing with his wife, Gail, they had their moves!
  
Paul is survived by his loving spouse of 51 years, Gail, sons: Christopher (Rhiannon) Stork, Nicholas (Jennifer) Stork, and Tyler (Melissa) Stork, grandchildren: Riley, Gabby, Hudson, Max, Sage, Easton and Allie Stork, his siblings: Vern (Barbara) Stork, Elizabeth Zuber, Judy Shaffer, Michael Stork, Deborah (Robert) Ramon, and Gloria (Dennis) Arps, and a sister-in-law, Peg Stork.
  
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Larry, Gary and Nelson Stork, and his brothers-in-law, Tom Zuber and John Shaffer.
  
Visitation will be held Friday, September 1, 2023, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 12:00 pm with Pastor Stan Harmon officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Defiance.
