Paul E. Gearing

Paul E. Gearing age 69, of Defiance, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 28th, 2023 in Defiance Ohio, the son of Paul W. and Joan (Hyatt) Gearing, who preceded his death.
Paul was a 1971 graduate of Defiance High School and on June 23rd, 1973 he married Sharon S. (Parker) Gearing.  Sharon preceded him in death after being married for 44 years.
Paul worked at General Motors for his entire career and was always passionate about cars.
He loved spending time with his daughters, grandchildren, and best buddy Bowser who was always by his side.  He enjoyed the outdoors, including fishing, mowing lawns, and tinkering with his car collection.  He loved his neighborhood and all of his friends there whom he considered family.  He was enthusiastic about helping others. 
Paul will be greatly missed and is survived by his two daughters, Lynne Rodriguez (Sergio) of Galena, Ohio and Janelle Seibt (Gabe) of Clarkston, Michigan, and his sister, Peggy May of Brunswick, Ohio.  He has four grandchildren, Nicolas and Anthony Rodriguez and Rachel and Gabriel Seibt.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home, with Chaplain Dale Katcher officiating.
