Patrick J. Fillman

Patrick J. Fillman, 67, of Defiance, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday evening, March 29, 2025.   
  
He was born on February 6, 1958 to the late William and Monica (Justinger) Fillman in Defiance, Ohio. On May 18, 1984 he married Martha Smith, who survives. 
 
Pat was a member of Defiance Eagles #372, Moose Lodge #2094, Bryan Eagles, Sherwood VFW, and UAW Local #211. He worked at Defiance Precision Products for many years until his retirement in 2023. Pat was an avid outdoorsman and in his leisure time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and boating. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially being with his grandchildren. Pat was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and many good friends. 
  
Patrick is survived by his loving wife Martha Fillman, his daughters, Marcy (Richard) Bower, Misty (Dave) Branam, Amanda (Matt) Kosinski, and Mary Fillman. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 
  
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild, and his brothers, Billy Fillman, Mike Fillman and Fr. Allan Fillman.
  
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 am on Friday, April 4th at St. Isidore Catholic Church, The Bend, with Fr. Melwin D'Souza officiating.
