Pascuala Rubio

Pascuala Rubio, 78, of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Fairlawn Haven Care Center in Archbold, Ohio.   
  
She was born on May 17, 1944 to the late Vincente and Tomasa (Cisneros) Salinas in Fostoria, Ohio. In August, 2018 she married Robert Rubio, who preceded her in death in April, 2020. 
  
Pascuala treasured her time spent at home with her children in their younger years. She enjoyed playing Mexican Bingo, Mexican Music and cards. She loved shopping, getting her nails done, and going out to eat. Her greatest love was being with her family, family reunions, and her dog. Pascuala was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
  
Pascuala is survived by her sons, John (Sylvia) Salinas of Van Wert, OH, Jerry (Tina) Salinas of Archbold, OH, Tom (Julie) Salinas, and Rene Salinas, all of Defiance. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, her brother, Vincente (Mina) Salinas Jr., and her sisters, Mary (Jerry) Cortez, Virginia Elias, and Lucy (Chris) Mendez. 
  
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Mike, Joe, Guiermo, Jim and Juan Salinas, and two sisters, Lupe and Cecilia.
  
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2023 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 20, 2023 at the funeral home, with Pastor Vincent Cantu officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
