Norman Tadsen Obituary

Norman Russell Tadsen, age 84 of Defiance, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at The Laurels of Defiance.  
  
He was born on October 10, 1938 to the late Vernon and Leona (Yenser) Tadsen in Defiance, Ohio. Norman was a 1956 graduate of Defiance High School. On February 25, 1960 he married Vicki Smith, who survives. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1960.  On November 20, 1978 he married Rose Elson, who resides in Defiance.  

He worked as a supervisor for Johns Manville and General Motors Powertrain for several years until his retirement in 1992. After retirement Norman worked for Sponseller Group and Kibby Group at Powertrain. He was a member of  Defiance VFW Post #3360, AmVets Post #1991, Elks Lodge #147, Eagles Post #372, NRA, Master Gardener of Defiance County, and Leipsic Rod and Gun Club. Norman loved mowing his lawn, gardening, traveling, hunting, and prairie dogs. 
  
Norman is survived by his loving wife Rose Tadsen of Defiance, his daughters, Kassie (Don) Tadsen of Scottsdale, AZ, Robin (Don) Ware of Cocoa, FL, Terrie (Kevin) Tadsen-Nangle of Dedham, MA, Nita Ketner of Defiance, Anne (Bob) Smith of Ottawa, and Stacie (Dan) Bowling of Defiance, and his sons, Todd (Kayla) Tadsen of Hendersonville, NC, and Bradd (Ann) Tadsen of Continental, Ohio. He also leaves behind 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren with two on the way, his brothers, Michael (CaroleAnn) Frederick of Fremont, IN, and Doug (Jane) Tadsen of Defiance, his sister, Sharon Fink of Avon by the Sea, NJ, and his dog, Fritz. 
  
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepdad, Charles Frederick, and stepmom, Ruth Tadsen, his daughter, Nikki Miller, and brother, Kenny Frederick.
  
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 2:00 - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance.  Following Norm's wishes there will be no Funeral Service. Burial will take place at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Defiance.
  
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
