Nancy Ducatt Obituary

Nancy Helen Ducatt passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 30, 2021. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Daniel L. Ducatt; daughter Leslie (Baynes) and son-in-law Timothy; grandson Evan (Brittany); step-grandson Justin, and a great-granddaughter.

She was born Oct. 26, 1939, in St. Michael’s Ridge, Ohio, the ninth of twelve children of Frank and Clara (Minck) Lenhart. Nancy was predeceased by siblings Francis, Elizabeth, June, Richard, and Benedict, and is survived by Rita, Patricia, Susan, Joan, Peggy, and Mary Carol.

Nancy graduated from Jewell High School in 1957 and Mercy School of Nursing (Toledo) in 1960. She was employed as a registered nurse at Defiance Hospital from 1960-1963 and at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati as charge nurse in the neo-natal intensive care unit until 1966. In the 1990s she provided in-home health care. A life-long parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, she enjoyed singing in the choir.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 10-11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Defiance, with a Rosary Service from 10-11. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am, with Fr. John Stites officiating.  Entombment will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens.
