Nancy Rose (Okuly) Brinkman

Nancy Rose Brinkman, 72, of Fort Jennings, Ohio, passed away Friday June 9, 2023 at St. Rita's Hospital in Lima.  
  
She was born on April 10, 1951 to Robert  and Rita (Weaver) Okuly at Defiance. Nancy was a 1969 graduate of Holgate High School. She worked as a Housekeeper for the Filling Home of Mercy in Napoleon for 20 years until her retirement in 2002. On April 25, 1970 she married Richard Brinkman who survives.  She enjoyed cake decorating, flower arranging, and baseball and basketball.  Her favorite teams were the Cleveland Guardians and the Cavaliers.
  
Nancy is survived by her loving husband Richard Brinkman, children, David (Angie) Brinkman of Fort Jennings, Tamela (Mike) Gerding of Continental, and Stefanie (Steve) Frate of Clyde, Ohio, five grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, brothers, Dan (Diane) Okuly of Defiance, and Alan (Dee) Okuly of North Folk, VA, sisters, Constance (Lee) Brown of Suffolf, VA, and Theresa (Darrel) Erford of Hamler. 
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Steve Okuly, and sister, Roberta Stevens.
  
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2023, 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, June14, 2023 at 11:00 am with Deacon Mark Homier officiating.  Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
