Michael "Mike" T. McKibben

Michael T. McKibben, age 61 of Defiance, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Mercy Defiance Hospital.   
  
He was born on October 25, 1962 to the late Kenneth and Betty (Richard) McKibben in Defiance, Ohio. Mike was a 1981 graduate of Ayersville High School and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Tri-State University in 1985. On May 31, 1986 he married Dawn Prickett, who survives. 
  
Mike was a member of Zion's Lutheran Church and Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He worked as an engineer for Johns Manville for several years until his retirement, and owned Dad's Dairy Depot in Defiance. Mike helped with snow removal for the township, and was a member of the church council. Mike was a dedicated husband and father who treasured his time spent with family. In his leisure time he enjoyed woodworking, and making furniture and picnic tables.
  
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Dawn McKibben of Defiance, his daughter, Hannah McKibben of Dayton, OH, and brothers, Scott McKibben of Defiance and Craig (Robin) McKibben of Bowling Green, OH. 
  
He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Zion's Lutheran Church, with Pastor Thomas Zulick officiating. Mike will be laid to rest at Riverview Memory Gardens.
