Michael O. Lane

Michael Owen Lane, 61, of Defiance, Ohio, passed away on September 14, 2025, at Mercy Defiance Hospital, surrounded by his loving daughters.

Born on March 9, 1964, to Walter W. Lane and Giesla Bachman in Vermillion, Ohio, Michael was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter W. Lane, stepfather Loren Bachman, and his brother, David Lane.

Michael is survived by his mother, Giesla; sister, Christiana Lane; daughters, Judith Vasquez, Katelynn Marie (Gavin Swalley) Miller, and Kylie Nicole Lane; and his cherished grandchildren: Adeline Lee Bardot, Dominick Ladine Bardot, Anaya Lynn Marie Swalley, Jax Leroy Allen Swalley, Kinzley Mona May Swalley, and Emersyn Francis Eileen Swalley.

Mike loved fast cars, fishing, and motorcycles - but more than anything, he treasured every moment spent with his children and grandchildren. His easy laughter and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Mike’s life will be held on Monday, Sept. 22nd at 5:00 pm at the Youth Leadership Building, Paulding Co. Fairgrounds, 503 Fairgound Dr, Paulding OH 45879.
